Executive Artistic Director

  • Fostered a compassionate, artist-centered environment where artists, staff, and volunteers felt supported, valued, and inspired to take creative risks

  • Supervised four productions during SCT’s 29th season, all of which came in under budget and turned a profit—demonstrating strong fiscal and artistic management

  • Provided artistic supervision across all productions, offering dramaturgical support and director notes to sharpen storytelling and ensure season-wide cohesion

  • Curated SCT’s 30th Anniversary Season around the theme of relationships—selecting stories that explored human connection while deepening institutional ties with patrons, artists, and community partners

  • Produced and directed Disaster!, a high-energy ensemble musical with a cast of both emerging and seasoned performers; selected and mentored the production team, many stepping into new or elevated roles

  • Secured SCT’s first grant from the local arts council and a capacity-building scholarship to support long-term sustainability through nonprofit leadership development

  • Rebuilt a collaborative relationship with Mosaic Arts Collective—a nonprofit expanding access, representation, and belonging in the regional arts community—leading to increased participation by diverse performers, technicians, and volunteers

  • Restructured auditions to be by appointment, shifted callbacks and casting notices to private communication, and streamlined comp and season ticket policies for clarity and respect

  • Invited previous casts and crews to final dress rehearsals of upcoming productions—building continuity, connection, and support across the season

  • Redesigned SCT’s website, email marketing, and social media to align with its sleek minimalist brand and bold artistic mission, increasing engagement and cohesion across platforms

  • Responsible for producing the theatre’s 8-show season and leading the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of all artistic programming

  • Cast and direct 4-5 full-length plays and musicals each year

  • Hired and managed all artistic and production personnel, including Equity actors and designers from across the country

  • In 2014, curated the company’s first artistic vision in its nearly 100 year history

  • In 2015, reshaped the company’s image to reflect the company's professional standards in theatre-making

  • Developed audience engagement programs, including “Discovery Nights” and post-show talkbacks

  • Established collaborations with community partners, such as the public library, health department, art center, and human rights commission

  • Prior to the pandemic shutdown, season ticket sales reached an all-time high, with an increase in sales of 38% from 2015 to 2020

  • During the pandemic shutdown, reimagined what theatre can be and how the company could do it

  • In 2023, income goals surpassed pre-pandemic figures

  • Expanded the youth in-school outreach program from 8 offerings to 200 offerings annually

  • Designed and implemented curriculum and lesson plans and taught outreach and in-house workshops

  • Selected scripts and directed 4 productions each season that included young performers and young audiences

  • Launched the Triple Threat Bootcamp and Showcase in 2009, now in its 14th year

  • Established “QCT on the Road,” a youth touring program that performed up to 21 times a year at local schools and libraries

  • Expanded the season to include a yearly Lab Theatre production
